Jared Gets His Report Card PDF Print E-mail

It's that time again and Jared actually volunteered his report card on Friday, instead of hiding it from us.  It was not the best report card, but it did show significant improvement over his previous one.  Jared did receive an A in history, crediting his dad's non-stop ramblings about history for his success.    His Spanish grade saw drastic improvement bringing his grade up by almost 20 points.  Jared passed everything except Biology, which did see improvement.  He is working hard to increase his average so he can pass the semester.

We are proud of him for working hard and encourage him to finish out the year strong.

Uncle Matt Attacked by Dog PDF Print E-mail

Friday, May 1st Uncle Matt was attacked by a dog while on the job. He was working on a phone line when the owner's dog, a pitt bull, broke off of her chain and lunged at Matt.  He received bites and scratches on his right leg.  He is OK, having received some minor wounds.  The owner was unable to produce proof of the dog's rabies vaccination.  Uncle Matt called the police and met with them and Animal Control to file a report.  The officials are testing the animal to verify it does not have rabies.  He is recovering nicely and is already back to work.
Tanya Hurts Her Back PDF Print E-mail

We are not sure how, but Tanya has really hurt her back.  She pulled or twisted something Saturday during Scott's Gaming session, which was cut short to deal with the crisis.   Scott called his boss and arranged a few days vacation so he could stay at home to help her.   Tanya could not move by herself and had to be helped up and down out of the bed.  She also needed assistance rolling over.

"Scott has been a real trooper" Tanya was overheard saying to a classmate on the phone.  Tanya is doing her best to get better.  We have been using heating pads and massage pillows to relieve the pain, along with muscle relaxors and pain pills.

She is moving somewhat better today (April 29th) but still needs help getting up and down.  it's been a long few days and the pain is still great, ut the increased range of movement is a good sign.  Please pray for Tanya to get better soon.

Tanya is still recovering from her back problem.  She has more range of motion back and for the second day in a row she has been able to get down stairs.  We have an appointment for her at 9 am Monday morning. She is still in a pit of pain but she is working through it to try and regain her independence.  Please keep her in your prayers.

On Monday April 20, 2009 Steffan departed Spring once again bound for Kansas.  His mother and her husband came to pick up Steffan.  He is planning to attend a Pharmacy Tech program in Kansas.   Meghan-Lynn also joined in on this trek.  Jared and I got to visit with Steffan, Meg and their mother at Baskin-Robbins for a while before they had to meet freinds for dinner.  They were to spend the night in Houston before heading back up to Protection.

We wish the best of luck to Steffan and hope he does well with his courses.
